WVLPCA creates a voice for counselors to speak up for what we do, what we need to grow, and the value we bring.

About Us

WVLPCA consists of members of the counseling profession working to promote Licensed Professional Counselors in the state.  LPCA creates a voice for counselors to speak up for what we do, what we need to grow, and the value we bring.

Our mission statement took a while to develop because we wanted to be as clear as possible. We believe it describes our reason for being with clarity and brevity.

WVLPCA’s mission is to work exclusively for West Virginia’s Licensed Professional Counselors, advancing the profession through legislative advocacy, professional development, relationship with WVBEC , and support of counselors in practice. This statement sets the direction of the association and the boundaries within which we focus our efforts and resources.

Board members are elected for a two year term.  Board members are committed to the mission of the association, dedicating their time and effort to make the association strong and healthy. Each board member has specific responsibilities and conducts them with diligence. Of course, there is always plenty of fun, humor and memorable experiences whenever the board is together.
