Interested in becoming an ALPS?

Take Advantage of our ALPS Trainings!

Do you have a passion to build the counseling profession in the state of West Virginia? The Approved Licensed Professional Supervisor (ALPS) credential is your gateway to build provisionally licensed counselors and strengthen mental health services. Your experience and wisdom can outlive you if it’s passed down to those coming behind you! We invite you to attend this clinical supervisor training designed specifically for those working in Wild and Wonderful West Virginia. If you are eligible and interested in becoming an ALPS for West Virginia, we invite you to register for a two-day training. Please visit the WVBEC ALPS page to see eligibility requirements.

There are two parts to the training. If you have been a counselor for less than 10 years – you will need Part 1 and Part 2 of the training (totaling 30 hours); they are each 15 hours. Part 1 is more didactic and focused on the rules of being an ALPS. Part 2 is diving into the role of clinical supervisor. If you have more than 10 years’ experience, then you will need Part 1 to get your 15 hours. We encourage everyone take both parts of the training as it can be a refresher, clarify information and build community with other counselors/ALPS. These are IN PERSON only trainings for that reason. We are offering both parts 2 times this year in 2 locations. Registration is only open for part 1 in both areas at this time. Each 15 hours of training is $450. Payment is required at time of registration.

ALPS Training Cancellation Policy • If you cancel your registration 14 days prior to the scheduled ALPS training, you will be issued a full refund. • If you cancel your registration 13 days or fewer days prior to the scheduled ALPS training, there is no refund.
